![]() He was cast in a completely contrasting character. But he was not given a Brahmin role in a Brahmin subject, as anyone would have expected. I don’t know how Bhimsingh even thought of casting him in that character. When I watched the movie first time I was so young and could not appreciate Srikanth much. Veru idam thedi poovalo was another soul touching melody. Its one of the best ever songs sung by him. The haunting Kandathai sollugiren, I doubt if any other singer would have been able to sing like him. I loved the way MSV experimented, the movie had just two songs but both the songs were remarkable. His characterization was not implausible, there are indeed many men like him in our society. If he accomplished it actually means he did his part incredibly well. But that was the purpose of his character. Both Sundari Bai and Sugumari really got into the skin of the character. She was so natural and spoke the Brahmin dialect well. ![]() Even though her character had grey shades, I really loved her acting. She was in full form! I don’t remember liking her in any movies before SNSM. ![]() It is needless to mention about Sundari bai. The supporting cast being given adequate scope to prove their talent is a rarity.
